About Touring Brain
Touring Brain is a free online tool that helps people plan motorhome, campervan and caravan trips around New Zealand. It is operated by Touring Brain, based in New Zealand.
What you can do for free
All planning tools on this site — route planning, weather briefings, towing calculations, campsite search, tyre checks, and pre-flight checklists — are free to use without signing up. You can also print any page directly from your browser at any time.
When we ask for your email
If you'd like us to email you a trip summary, weather reminder, route details, or any other information from the site, we'll ask for your email address first. This is the only time we collect personal information.
What we do with your email
When you give us your email address and tick the consent box, we use it to:
- Send you the trip information you requested.
- Send occasional updates about new features on Touring Brain.
- Send occasional tips and content from our sponsors that we think are relevant to touring in New Zealand.
We will never sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties. Sponsor content is sent by us, not by the sponsors — they never see your email.
Unsubscribe at any time
Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom. You can also email feedback@touringbrain.co.nz and we'll remove you within 48 hours.
Data we store
We store your email address, the date you signed up, what you consented to, and any trip or rig details you choose to save. We do not use cookies for tracking. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate — this does not identify you personally.
Disclaimer
Touring Brain is a planning aid, not a substitute for your own judgment. Route suggestions, weather forecasts, towing calculations, and campsite information are provided in good faith but may contain errors. Road conditions, weather, and campsite availability change constantly. Always check official sources (NZTA, MetService, DOC) before travelling, and drive to the conditions.
Changes to this policy
We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
